If they carry on along these lines, it'll soon be illegal to use indicators or brake lights as they could warn other riders/drivers of something!

That's the price we all pay for living in Communist Britain in 2011.

When are common folk like us going to get really pissed at all of this and do something constructive about it? The Plod have free reign to tailor current road traffic legislation to suit whatever conviction they wish to press... and the politicians and court system to back-up this madness.

As I've always said... a £60 fine and 3 points for a minor speeding infringement, I'd have been better-off mugging a pensioner for 50p.

It's a sh*it state of affairs, that'll never change unless we all wake-up.

the case of R v Glendinning would strongly suggest that this prosecution was incorrect.  Have they simply ignored it or do they know about it?

The Glendinning case demands that the prosecution need to show not only that the actions of a driver flashing etc were not only intended to slow drivers down, but actually slowed down a motorist who would otherwise have speeded past the laser or radar.   In the absence of this evidence, the offence of obstruction can not be proved
also In 1910 a test case established that a patrolman signalling a driver to reduce speed in order to avoid a police speed trap was obstructing an officer.
The AA then developed a coded warning system that lasted until the 1960s. A patrolman (pictured) would salute the driver of a car displaying an AA badge, except in the presence of an approaching speed trap.

Confucius didn't say this but (whoever wins the election the government always gets in) Just remember this last labour party  made more laws than any other incumbent before them :wheelchair
