I did mine in November 2009. Left the test centre, left onto Fabian Way, right at the lights before the bridge,  up Foxhole Road to the roundabout by Morfa,  up the Winchwen bypass, right at the roundabout,  after 100yds was asked to pull in on Carmel Road, pulled off (when safe to do so with a life saver!) passed the Halfway Inn then take the immediate right onto Crymlyn Road, follow towards Skewen, after the cemetery pull in (hill start) follow Crymlyn road to the mini roundabout onto Pen-yr-Ally Ave, right onto Burrows Road to Llandarcy, around the roundabout and down Jersey Marine and back onto Fabian Way.

Passed with two minors, one for too fast (Crymlyn Road) and one for too slow (Jersey Marine).

Hope it helps but don't forget they've added a new section now where you have to navigate yourself to a destination so the old set routes may not count anymore.

Good luck  :thumbsup

took mine 2009, start same as yoyo but i turned right into winchwen estate before the morfa roundabout. did hill starts and pulling away throughout estate then out the other side, left along morfa road and left onto fox hole road. Traffic at new cut bridge so had to go left and up through st thomas which was a bit of a bugger as loads of hill starts! Dropped down onto fabian way and back to centre. 2 minors for too slow in estate (lots of changes between 20-30 mph and got confused!)

if you turn right onto fabian way you will probably be taken to briton ferry, they often take you through Baglan on a one way street and try to catch you out when turning right as it is a 2 lane road. will also take you through briton ferry past the recycling centre where there is a crafty no entry junction.

good luck.

Welcome OC, I'm sure you can Google the test routes and they are hidden in the DSA website somewhere but I'd also heard since they added the free riding part of the test they had removed the set routes. The ones Snaffle and I posted are well known ones (his one through St Thomas must have been a pig to do!) When is your test? You doing DAS or on a 125? Ade

Why Does it matter what the test routes are ?

I know it's nice to practice, but you should be able to deal with the situaltion at the time ?

I had nooo idea where I was going on my test as I was not at all familiar with the area, I did one route with my instructor covered the major stuff.
Just took directions of the examiner  :thumbsup and did what I was asked (apart from the emergancy stop when a taxi coming towards me me turned right across my path ... que sharp intake of breath from examiner  :rofl ) I wasn't worried about where I was going just being obeservan and doing all the right things in the right places :thumbsup

Good luck for Anyone taking their test  :tup2

Bikes don't leak oil',.... they mark their territory :o)           Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight. Growing old is manditory... but growing up...well that my friends...is OPTIONAL!

i took my test in lampeter, on of my reasons for doing it somewhere i didnt know was so i would focus more on what i was doing and not where, if i had done it locally i probably would have paid less attention.

I agree it makes no difference really, you're either good enough to pass your test or you're not.

Leant to drive in bristol, took my driving test in gloucester, my cbt in cheltenham, I did mod1 training in bristol, cardiff and a little village in cornwall that I can't remember the name of.

Waited a year, took my mod2 in bristol after 2 days training.

Me... I come from near Cardiff.

I didn't have a freaking clue about the roads I was on, just read the road signs. I guess it did make me more nervous at the time but do your observations and you'll be fine!

Lol, I couldn't take much leave at the time so just did things whenever I had the money or was in an area for a while :)

Was adamant I wanted my bike licence so just did it wherever I could.
