Bloody hell they must`ve been quite embarrassed when you brought the loan bike back for the same fault!
I haven`t heard any news about mine yet but I assume they would know of this fuel pump fault by now,if not I`l be sure to mention it when I speak to them.

So I guess we still have to suck it and see as they say!  :banghead

Oh dear me  :no I read that about the fuel pump, but some people also have the fault re-occur once it's been changed. This has really put me off riding to be honest, my Rover hasn't broken down once in 2 1/2 years, and it's 8 years old now :'(

Oh man I can't have the fault happening again. This has put me off the CBF completely. I've just been having a look at Yamaha's website and I quite like the look of the YBR 125. If they give me my refund, I think I'll be going for that. Hopefully tomorrow I'll find out...

If they give you a refund I will show my arse in Wooly's window. I know what the law is all about but it really doesn't happen.
The whole issue is a disgrace and you guys that have been messed about to this degree by the might of the Honda corporation should be re-imbursed. :scooter

Although I've just put this 3rd CBF Loan bike through it's paces, and whilst it's only got 150 miles on the clock, this one seems to be fine. Rode it to the town and back, then on a dual carriageway, sat with it (pretending to be in traffic) for about 5 minutes whilst idling away, then rode it back home, and sat it with it for a further 12 minutes idling away and it seemed quite happy idling away. The engine temp got up to 160 degrees, then I got bored and turned it off.

If you're after a speedy solution it might be worth getting onto Watchdog etc

Once they know there are lots of people in the same position they'll do something

Same goes for the Ferret or the Welsh BBC one if they know there are lots of welsh members having the same issue

Damn.
If I say, Belgium is a remote part of Wales, would they believe me.

As far as I know (reading on the internet), I'm the only one here who has the problem  :weed.

Maybe there aren't that much CBF's sold here (dealer told me other things).

To be honest, apart from having the bike there for 4 days without looking at it, my dealer's been ok, as we speak they are replacing the fuel pump as per Honda's almighty advice. My only hope now is that I can break the new pump so I can be rid of the sodding thing!  :hang

On the plus side my dad just got his '06 reg 650 Bandit sitting in the garage this morning. Not the prettiest bike, but maybe cops could mistake it for a 125 cbf?  :thumbsup "Yes officer, that engine is only 125cc.... )VROOM!)"  :weed

Finally brought my CBF to the dealer yesterday. The first concern they had was that they don't have the time to simulate a long trip. (actually go driving around he meant).
But there is a sort of action from Honda about some tube that might be overflowing after a while  :eek or something like that. He hopes that when they fix it, the problem is avoided. Poor bikeless me can only hope the same. But question remains, what if it is something else, that there really is a problem with these bikes. Maybe reconsidering getting my drivers license for a larger bike.

Well my dealer has just given me a call back today, and they've just said Honda have advised them to change the Fuel Pump. Apparently the 1st CBF they loaned me was also on the same batch number as my bike, which could explain why that one also had the same problem.

So now I have to wait until the new Fuel Pump arrives from Honda Europe which is apparently where it's coming from. I'm told it could be Wednesday next week when I'll have my bike back.

In the meantime I'll be increasing the mileage on this 2nd CBF of theirs....

Well, nothing new for me to add unfortunately.I`ve had the same info from Thunderroad regarding my bike.On advice from Honda they will change the fuel pump as soon as it arrives in the next couple of days, that shouldn`t be delayed then at all! ;-(
So we shall see how it performs then,I only tend to cover the same routes so should be able to tell fairly quickly if there`s still gonna be an issue.

Fingers crossed,if it does fix it then fairplay atleast they got it sorted.Inconvenienced a bit but there we go.Hope they don`t make me eat my words! ;-(

Hope everything works out and looking forward to tagging along on some `plodder` ride outs! ;-)
