Hi everyone, what are things coming to? I was at a roundabout in Morfa (Swansea) this morning when a old "idiot" in a BMW smashed straight into the back of me bike went down and so did I.... The driver got out and said the usual " sorry mate I didn't see you" now I'm on crutches and laid up with a bad back and neck and the bike ain't much better. Even thou my crash bungs did help.  What's it coming to when someone can't see you on a bright orange bike and wearing a bright multi color helmet???

Oh no... not another biker down.

I had the same thing happen to me at the Maccydoo's roundabout in Llanelli... completely totalled my Aprilia and bashed Mrs Addict up quite badly!

Driver got her heel jammed between the floor mat and clutch pedal... yeah, I know!

U got legal cover with your insurance policy... go check and use it if you have. My Missus still suffers with back pain to this day (genuine), and the accident happened over 6 years ago!

Anyways, keep your spirits up and GWS!

Bad news dude,

I got rear ended at a roundabout by a Range Rover driver whilst stationary last year. Broke my ankle (now pinned to match the other ankle, funnily enough that was a Range Rover too....spot the common factor), messed up my neck and wrote the bike off.

I was wearing a hi viz jacket and had a high level brake light on my top box, which was on. "Sorry mate, didn't see you" was his excuse too.

2 weeks later, exactly the same thing happened to my old man on his BMW RS.

It seems people are more bothered about looking to see what's approaching from the right to see if there's a gap in the traffic they can jump into rather than what's right in front of them.

I almost packed in biking after that because I hear of so many stationary riders getting knocked off, but, I thought why should I give up what I love cos some f*ckwit isn't paying attention to what he's doing.

Hope you heal up soon and get back on the bike  :tup2

Yep, that's the worrying part, the next tw@t that hits you (God forbid) might be going a sight faster.

Lack of attention payed by car drivers is one of my major gripes. I commute 134 miles a day on the M4 and see so many drivers on mobile phones, telling the kids in the back off, applying makeup, shavin, reading newspapers (honestly - another Range Rover driver), I sometimes wish for more law in traffic cars, never thought I'd say that!....But it's OK, speed cameras catch bad drivers don't they!?

That sucks mate. Get well soon. Hope your insurance get it all sorted asap so you can get back on it.

As others have said I think it's unfortunately all too common an accident.

I too got shunted from behind at a junction. Weirdly it was a range rover too. Not the same one was it?

Bad news on the crash, hopefully they don't drag things out and you get what you are owed swiftly without hassle
