If it is a bigger bike than mine I nod back if nodded too, equal or smaller I initiate.

Is always nice when a biker acknowledges a biker on a smaller ride, I wouldn't feel comfortable initiating to someone on a real machine while I toddle along on my girl tho haha

I usually nod.  It does make me feel more of a part of a community than when in the car.

If you are following a biker you don't know, do you pull up behind or next to them at lights?

If you are following a biker you don't know, do you pull up behind or next to them at lights?

Depends on the situation and how long the lights take to change. If I know the lights will take a while, I'll pull up alongside for a natter, if they are quick lights, I'll sit behind or if there is room, pull alongside and give a nod, then pull off again! Manor way is great, I've had many a conversation with a biker I dont know, coming home from work, there are so many sets of lights that you end up having a good ol chinwag!! :thumbsup

What the hell, I'll nod at anyone on two wheels! Why not? If I don't nod you, it doesn't mean I hate ya, and if I do, it doesn't mean I love ya! It's just nice to acknowlede fellow riders and make the car drivers around, wonder what the secret code is.......  :tt

I must admit I do the nod when I am driving the car, but this isn't as dangerous as trying to squeeze through a gap in the traffic, forgetting that I am not on my bike!!!!!

This is a fab thread, wot would a psychologist make of these answers?????  :taz
