So glad someone brought this up! I've only just passed my CBT, so of course im very excited to be riding. So I nod to just about every dude on 2 wheels that I see. I got lots of nods back, asked a guy in work why the choppers/cruisers don't nod back.. Didn't know there were different breeds of bikers!

Also... SUV drivers are ass holes.  :thumb_down

Now here we go....I am a Beemer rider and nod to anyone on any motorised two wheel machine, from L platers thru R platers to fully fledged riders..the only time I don't bother 'cos you end up with a sore neck.. some people say why do you nod to learners, at the end of the day they are tomorrows bikers....I nod to fella every morning going to work, not got a clue who he is what he does but I feel as I know 'cos I see him at the same place every day....how strange we people are....

I've often had a funny look from some bikers I've nodded to. Then I remember, "Oh yeah, I took the car today didn't I".. :scratch

Andy.
The instructions said "Use Windows XP or greater" so I installed Linux!
A Life? Cool! Where can I download one of those?

that'll be why, they can be a strange breed
all my mates down here ride cruisers and custom chops and i only get a nod once they've recognised my bike

I love biker nods, I always nod (which mostly get returned) and if I'm ever lucky enough to get a nod without me nodding first, it makes me grin like an idiot. I'm a girly girl like that you see. To all the bikers who don't nod back (probably because I'm still on L plates)...you're a twat. Am I allowed to say twat?! Ah well.

what's the practice on biker nods when on dual carriageways and motorways ... reason I ask is that I nodded at 4 bikers on the opposite carriageway on the A48 yesterday and none nodded back ... isn't it the done thing or was it because I looked like a feckin loon hanging onto the 125 for dear life, jacket flapping in the wind ... :scratch

Good question mate - it was part of my original post, but didn't get answered.

I tend to nod on the motorway myself (if safe!!) and a low percentage of times I get a nod back. But sometimes I don't nod, mainly due to the fact of the higher speed and hence concentration - and therefore miss another biker until the last minute.
