Too rite mate. If they wont price match for basically a tenner, then f*ck um!!! I know for a fact they can give at least 15% on practically everything. So why they didnt budge is beyond me.......... They must like losing sales in this economy.  :scratch

 :i_agree

Disappointing that you made a treck from Cardiff to Swansea to be turned down like that

It is their shop and they can do what they like of course.......
But like Fuzzr said in this climate they can't be selling much and you'd think they'd be open to a bit of a discount.

Very disappointing  :no

They must do I'm afraid to say as if he had of even said he would do 10% off it so it was like £80 ish I would have bought it on the principle I had it for the weekend. I have had a reply off that guy selling them cheap in Cardiff going to nip down tomorrow to have a look :thumbsup fingers crossed it may do me for I want.

If the product is good enough for you and the service is good it's always worth supporting the local trader  :tup2

Let us know how the one in Cardiff gets on.
I've got the same one and have found it to be more than adequate

I've always found M&P to be like that when it comes to keeping prices 'real'.

In the good old days they were a brill outfit to deal with, but since MC sold out, they've been a complete disaster - I don't even check their website anymore!

Shame tho... being local'ish and all that.

M&p say 'we' get 5% discount off everything in fact I'm pretty sure 'we' have a representative if theirs on here. Interesting really let's see if he responds , meanwhile I suggest you go to bike gear Bridgend as they do pricematch and are nice guys

I thought welshbikers were offered a discount but the two guys behind the counter were adamant that they stopped it due to the privilege being abused.
I'm going to see that cheap one at 8:30 so will let you know what I end up doing.

Bought the back protector for £15 the guy that's selling them is very friendly and will do all he can to make transaction easy as possible. The business premises is based in Barry but the owner lives in Cardiff. He picked up a back protector and brought it home for me to try and on - all with no pressure to buy. He was showing me some of the other gear he sells and in fairness it's good quality and relatively cheap (eg £80 for leather jacket). Its a family business between him over here and his sister in Australia. Will definitely consider them for any future purchases.
The back protector is very comfortable and light. It has some of the safety features the likes of knox are talking about, i.e. it will be forwards but not backwards.
All in all im very happy so thanks all for the advice  :thumbsup

Haven't bought a back protector, but on the strength of favourable comments on here I ordered a pair of leather trousers from this "guy in Cardiff" on Wednesday. (I've actually shrunk, so my old ones don't fit!). They arrived today (Friday morning) - fit fine, and seem to be of good quality.
I can certainly recommend this firm for excellent service!
