There are little techniques with different bikes, it the bike kept in a garage?
If so it wont be that cold so try starting without the choke and then just add a little bit at a time until it starts and leave it iddle for a few minutes

My ZX6 needs full choke on cold mornings and I need to leave it on till it's pretty warm or it cuts out.
Although I think it's running a bit lean.  Winter job is to take the carbs off and give them a good clean and a check over.

:scratch i have  only just had the bike, it came with a service and and mot there is only 10,000 genuine miles on the clock and it is an r reg, the AA chap said maybe change the plugs.
when i went home i rang the garage where the bike was purchased he was quite befuddled and seems pretty genuine, he also admitted the plugs wern't changed but he said the bike was fine when he tested it and wasn't prepared to help me any further, my told him that if there was something wrong with the bike he would be helping or legal action would be sought as the bike has not been rode yet, he soon changed his tune.
the bike runs like a dream my only concern is flooding it again and being stranded.

the companyy i bought the bike from was ebikes.co.uk and is based in bristol, i live in newport  and the chap was not prepared to travel to mine to help. i hate peole who sell something and then give shite aftersales, what a cock. i do have a standard three month warranty. :taz RANT OVER.....

check plugs are good
renew plugs if any doubt
make sure gaps are exactly to spec
if possible check carb and jets (and fuel supply)
check spark is firing ok

find best position for your choke for varying temperatures
try to start first time or first coupla turns to prevent flooding
wait between attempts possibly

if think flooded (smell petrol) try opening twistgrip (throttle) FULL WIDE OPEN to help clear combustion chamber
and keep trying/ firing/starting ... may start

if not you can wait a longer time or
remove plugs and clean and let dry out then replace and try again

if still too cold
place motorcycle on bonfire
