Good old thunderoad. 
Yes, everyone else maybe melting to death on the roads but not us! Because we have a car with hair conditioner! I mean what in the name of sanity did they think we want it for? To make sure that the roof rack is more shiny and managable?

at last job complete,but almost wasn,t, the part still had not arrived so the service manager had a look to see if the same part was available for another customer,due to be repaired next week,so it looks like some one else is going to have a long wait :no

regulator or rectifier cuts out at slow ridinng, possible at normal speed as well,stopped dead on me once wasn,t expecting it.  :oops no damage though

Reg/Rec problems seem to have plagued Hondas (and probably other makes too) for many years. What's so difficult in making a reliable unit, in this age of electronic wizardry?

Had to change the reg/rec on mine in august. The bike just died on me in Bristol and the AA brought me home on a huge low loader......not a good look I can tell you !!!
Btw cost me £181 to replace !!!!!!

Cars and bikes these days seem to suffer with electrical problems more than mechanical. 
The auto industry needs to sort this out.   :taz

But they should have a guaranteed minimum life span I think. 
I understand things are not built to last through working for Sony.  Their tv's were made of top quality components (built to last) and there was nothing to stop them lasting 18 years before they put them through a 10year ageing process before packing them for shipping. 
Similar things probably happen in all industries or they use cheaper parts to keep the big wheels turning I suppose.   :scratch
