Here ya go Mojo, this is all you'll need to sort out the fault. It's quite time consuming but is very thorough, and if I can find a fault with one out of 3 windings in my alternator then it must be bloody good, cos i'm shit at electrics as Dhd will confirm

Just an idea, but could it be a bad earth on the ignition circuit?

We have diagnosed the windings in the alternator now as joeboy suspected Dave P has confirmed  thanks guys

Ok I know this is going on sometime now but I'm trying to get the alternator stator rewound anybody know if there is anywhere local I can get this done and has worked on bike stators before if possible.

can't rembember the name but i'll ask my brov as when the windings went on his cbf he found a place in cwmbran but it was expencive as it was a one off so ended up just paying out for a new one

still not fixed awaiting another stator to be sent today as the previous one sent was wrong must be about 2-3 months now hoping i will fix it this weekend but i have been saying that for a while.

have you sent them a picture of the old one along with internal and external sizes including thickness, so they may stand a better chance

Have you checked what charge voltage you have with the lights off and on?

Yep Joe did it was up to about 14 I think
