BT 023, anyone have any experience with them?
« on: July 22, 2010, 07:04:50 PM »
Ever since I had a litre bike I have used nothing but pilot road 2s. I ride a bandit and I dont drive flat out so touring tyres are ideal for my type of riding. Anyway I get about 5000 miles from a PR 2 rear tyre. I am thinking about trying out Bridgestones bt 023 tyres next time I change but would like to hear your thoughts on them if anyone has tried them.
Dai Ling Ping.
So what would happened if I drive faster than the speed of light and turn on my headlight?
You know youve been caught speeding when the photo of your bike has motion blurr.

I'd like to hear the response to this too, need a pair for my Bandit I've got miss matched on their now, the rear has now had it, according to the previous owner it's the original, if it is it's done well with 7k on the clock. The front is fairly recent but I'd change the pair to match them.

The trick is what to put on, much the same as Welshrider not a mega fast rider and life span is as important as grip (don't wan't crap either). I was thinking Pilot Road 2's but need some ideas.

Cheers Dave. Not calling me a sloth is probably the nicest thing you've said about me.

Bt023's eh :scratch

In my own opinion - and opinions vary wildly from person to person regarding bike tyres - I reckon you won't get much better on a sports touring level than an 023.

Had 020's and they were good, then 021's which were a marked improvement. Used to regularly get 8000 out of the front, and 4000 out of the rear on both and got the pegs down on both of em.

Then tried Pilot Road 2's and fuckin hated em! Had numerous front end slides that almost spoiled my spain tour. Got home and went straight back to 021's. CBR1000F is a fat old girl and I just don't think the Road 2's worked on it. My boy had a pair of road 2's fitted to his FZ6 at the same time and never had a problem with em.

Got home from the tour and went straight back to the 021's. Confidence now restored and I felt good about my tyres. Then I went for the 023's.

Feck me, what a difference! Gave me so much confidence I ate the front tyre in 3000 miles.

I've slowed down a bit since then so tend to get about 4 or 5k out of the front with the rear much more mileage than the 020's or 021's.

My boy also went for the 023's and said the difference was very noticable with the 023's compared to the Road 2's, and he was already happy with them!

Fantastic tyres, and never had a moment on em in the wet or dry. Try em, you'll like em  :thumb_up
