Misting up
« on: February 21, 2011, 12:14:20 PM »
Afternoon all. After a bit of advice. I have a duchinni lid, and on odd day where we dont have oodles of the sunny stuff, I know our weather is most excellent and its not often it rains, lol. Problem I get, as I also wear glasses, is the visor misting up, and I have to fully open or just keep it open a crack so I can see, but then I tend to get my glasses doing the same when they get wet too.
Does anyone else get this problem and is there an easy solution (apart from not going out in the rain.

A visor insert should sort the issue. Fog city ones are relatively cheap! :thumbsup

unfortunately the easiest solution is to buy a decent lid that has pinlock fitted , and keep your duccinni for spare or garuanteed sunny days

Funny enough I used to have a ducchini (d701 I think).
I agree with ninja warrior - the inserts are perfect. In the mean time a short term fix which I picked up off here is to put a bit of washing up liquid on the inside of visor using a dry cloth on to dry visor. Does the job for a few days :tup2

And like dhd says, could go out and get a new helm... noticed in blunder road yesterday that they have quite a good sale on helmets... mostly shark.

But I'm sure Ive seen somewhere that those duccinn helmets have a better protection rate than shoei etc :)

Uncle Albert here bag in the late 80's early 90's we used to get a tiny smear of washing up liquid and work in round in cirlcles on the inside of the visor and that used to stop it.

I've just compared some helmets on that site.  Quick point I want to make.
a good fit is just as important as the sharp rating thing.

Although I fail to believe that a £90 Duchini helmet is as safe as an Arai RX7GP that has been developed by racing technology from the last 30 years.

I always look at helmets racers wear.  And not sponsored racers who are paid, but racers who trust their life to the safety of their helmets.
Road racers at the TT for example

And you'll notice how popular Arai are

The sharp ratings get shot down all over the place on their methods of testing, I didn't pay any attention to the ratings when i got my Arai chaser. My ducchini was alright for the £50 i gave for it but nothing compared to the arai on so many levels, primarily comfort and fit.
