Oxtar TCS Evo
« on: October 16, 2009, 11:31:01 AM »
First boots I had, and still have, are the Oxtar TCS Evo.

I bought them 6 years ago, paid £189 and have no complaints, other than I bought too big a size which meant I had to wear 2 pairs of socks to stop them slipping and meant I didnt have as much feel. But that was my fault. The only other complaint is that they creaked when you walked, as the torsion bar at the back rubs. I tried everything to stop them creaking but no use.

Looks wise, they are fantastic, and one of the reasons I bought them. They have interchangable parts so signs of wear and tear can be removed easily. I've had 1 off whilst wearing them and the torsion bar prevented my ankle from breaking. I still tore all the ligaments as my foot was trapped under the bike and tried to bend back on itself but the boot prevented my ankle from snapping (its what the torsion bar is designed to do) so a big thumbs up from me on that!  :tup2 :tup2

Comfort wise I cannot comment as I didnt walk any considerable distance in them and always had 2 pairs of socks on, which made my feet hot especially in the Summer, but quite nice in the Winter months.

I have since bought the Sidi Vertigo's, but only due to the size issue, and not because of the boot itself. I'll still wear them in the Winter.  tup1

iv had a pair of oxtar tcs evo for the last 4 years and highly recomend them.they are comfy and look the part , but they do make a creekn noise when u walk.other than tha they r like a comfy old pair of slippers n still look newish  after 4 years.will buy oxtar again when mine have worn out.not so fussd on the newr alpine stars as they all seem to have a cuban style heel on them like a cowboy boot.
