Saddled

BEFORE:

AFTER:

Okay the colour change is obvious, but also if you notice, the before pic has a seam running across the saddle, less easily spotted is the stitching is done so that the blue and black marry up level. Both of these are a problem as water can seep in. In the after pic, it's a one piece tangerine top stitched so that it lies over the lower black sections, so rain falls off and I'm less likely to catch the stitching with a boot or buckle.

The work was done by a new business for this forum that I picked up on:

Jane Wilmot's Workshop... 07964 199525, based near Newcastle Emlyn.

If I'm as happy with it in 50,000 miles time, then I'll let you know, but for the moment, this lady knows her stuff when it comes to recovering saddles.

I picked the colours, so she's not to be blamed for that. Oddly enough, underneath the before layer when it was stripped down was the previous owner's saddle material... almost the same as my new choice.... spooky.

I thought about black, but on such a lump of a bike that's already black it looked , well very 'miserable', when we laid the material over the seat. It needed something to lift it a bit.
