New in Abertillery
« on: January 22, 2012, 09:40:50 PM »
Hi.
Just a quick hello. I moved to Wales from Dorset about 7 months ago. New to biking. currently still on L plates on my Suzuki GZ125 Marauder. Main purpose of this was for commuting to work but the biking bug has bit! just need some funds now for full licence and bigger bike!

Being new to area I don't really know anyone apart from the guys i work with in Cardiff, none of whom are bikers. Hoping that through this site I can get to know some people near by as riding buddys and friends. At the moment if i'm not working i'm home with the missus and kids and really need to get out sometimes.

Anyone nearby who fancies a ride give me a shout and see what we can do. Obviously i'm on a small bike so you gotta be prepared to go slow for me - i'm not exactly a small chap and weigh it down a bit! lol

Hope to here from people

Mark

Welcome aboard mate.  :thumb_up

There's quite a few on L plates on here I believe. It may well be worth you starting a thread in the rideout sections titled something like 'A 125 ridout'. I'm sure that there would be a few on similar size bikes that would spot that and join you on that one.  :thumbsup

A good way for all to get used to group riding as well.  :thumb_up

morning  :thumb_up
Bikes don't leak oil',.... they mark their territory :o)           Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight. Growing old is manditory... but growing up...well that my friends...is OPTIONAL!

Hi Mark,

Welcome.  Having a bike is a great way to get about, but also a great way to meet new like minded folk.

And this forum is a good place to start.

You say you are a big bloke, well be prepared to get bigger clothing as all my rides end up in a bikers cafe or at a table for Sunday lunch!

When you are out on a bike..... You must take every opportunity to eat.

Welcome.

Thanks for all the replies guys. when i got more time i'll certainly be taking the advise about trying to organise a 125 rideout. might even invite 50's to annoy the car drivers lol.
Hope to see some of you guys out there
