MAG South Wales Rep
« on: August 01, 2011, 11:51:46 PM »
Hi, I'm Phil, I've been MAG rep for a little while though I only know as much about bikes and the world of politics as anyone else here & probably less than many -I browse forums & get into discussions and I want to know about -& what you think of to do about- any legislation/bias against bikers, to feed back to the MAG NC & politicians.

I've been riding 35 years, rain & sun, cold & dry, snow & heatwave.  I enjoy good company but I usually ride alone and I almost always ride with a smile on my face. Bikes have always been among my greatest joys.

I first joined MAG about the time Peter Arsely wanted to force leg cages on us, & I rejoined & got active when I found out what the DSA were doing to Learners, especially in rural areas like where I live. I've done what I could in what time I can offer, & continue to try to help -but MAG is made up of a lot of people, like Roy & Ken in West Wales -Aberporth, where DSA  has just announced the opening of a new Test centre & are at last taking bookings; & Paddy & Nich who were INVITED by the new government to advise the best way to salvage something from the mess the DSA had made of the off-road test & how to implement something more sensible, such as will be trialled at Aberporth.

I need to get to bed now as I've a day job to go to in the morning -will get back here asap to see if anyone's posted anything about MAG's plans for September 25th... local options look good, so make sure your bike is fettled & fuelled & you're free for at least half an hour at around 1p.m. that day for MOTORCYCLE MAYHEM.

Ride free, ride safe,

Phil

I've been a MAG member on and off for quite a few years (just keep forgetting to renew my membership when it becomes due- but have beena good boy about it lately).

I'll be supporting the new Cardiff group being launched at the meeting next Thursday the 11th at The Ninian Park Pub, 7.30pm.

I would urge any biker who cares about his/her passion for bikes, to come along to see what MAG can do to help to protect biking for the future.

There's more going on than you may think.

 :thumb_up hello
Bikes don't leak oil',.... they mark their territory :o)           Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight. Growing old is manditory... but growing up...well that my friends...is OPTIONAL!
