Hello everyone, I found this forum a few weeks ago and thought it was about time I joined. After many years of consider it I decided to call FBSABC about doing my CBT with them, booked it for a week later, completed it without a problem and bought myself a Yamaha YBR-125 the next day. Four weeks later I'm loving it.
Only one fall so far. I misjudged a corner and panicked when I thought I was going in too quickly, snatched the front brake and slipped on some gravel. If I'd turned in harder I would have made it without a problem but you don't think straight when you've only just started riding. From what I've read it's a pretty typical beginner's error and luckily I got away with a couple of bruises and some scratches on the rear of a mirror.
Other than that it's been great fun.
I had some Michelin Pilot Sporty tyres fitted last week and they have totally changed the feel of the bike. After scrubbing them in I've found the bike feels much more stable in wind and going around corners. Well worth the money!
The plan is to use the YBR for around 3-4 months then do my test and buy a bigger bike. I know a lot of people advise doing your test straight away but I'm not too bothered by the lack of power at the moment so I'm enjoying the YBR for what it is until I'm ready to move on. It certainly speeds up my commute and makes it far more enjoyable.
I'll stop rambling now

Hi Mark,
I did something similar a few years ago and it worked well for me, I'm now riding a K1200s, good luck with the test when you do take it
