Hallo - new to site, and odd request
« on: August 16, 2011, 03:10:47 PM »
Hallo all

I have been registered a while, but not active (not very good with forums, or is it fora?)  Anyway, I digress.  The reason I am saying hallo now is that this year I have started racing a Formula 2 sidecar. I have done 3 races at Tonfanau, and 1 hillclimb at Epynt.

I need someone to become my permanent passenger, as I have had 3 different passengers, and it is a worry wondering if they will turn up.

If you are interested in passengering, we are having a test day at Llandow Circuit near Cardiff on Tuesday 30th August. There will be other sidecars there as well as me, so you can chat with experienced drivers and passengers, and find out what it entails. We are also have a solo session, which is aimed at the novice track day rider rather than the racer practising.

Next year I want to do the Tonfanau championship and also the Port Talbot club hillclimbs, but other than that the passenger can choose which race meetings we do. I live in Mid Wales.

Firstly, Hi, and welcome to the site.

Secondly I think sidecar passengers are the bravest people in motorcycle racing. How far they lean and not to far from the floor.
It is an exciting prospect and would love to have a go but to know if you got what it takes to do it at race pace is another thing.
I will visit this thread again as this has raised my curiosity. :thumbsup
Being 39 it's a bit late for me, old dogs and new tricks and my balls being not as testosterone fuelled as they were.
I always was sure it would be one hell of an adrenaline rush and would loved to have tried it.

Yes, everyone else maybe melting to death on the roads but not us! Because we have a car with hair conditioner! I mean what in the name of sanity did they think we want it for? To make sure that the roof rack is more shiny and managable?

I'd love to have a go at this but if I jumped in your side car you'd need a Heavy Goods Licence, not a racing licence. It would be the Weighbridge for us, not the pits. But I will reconsider if you can fit a picnic hamper in there with me!

Welcome, good luck & have you got anything to eat......
