Aye insurance on a 1200 will be mental probably for a new rider.

Get yourself down a dealers and go sit on a whole bunch of them. Take a friend with you so he can help balance the bike while you test the fit of the footpegs and geometry. Sitting astride one is different to the position you take when riding.

First big bike I insured after passing my test was a Bandit 1200 and it was £300 and something 3rd party f&t which I thought was quite reasonable.
Yes, everyone else maybe melting to death on the roads but not us! Because we have a car with hair conditioner! I mean what in the name of sanity did they think we want it for? To make sure that the roof rack is more shiny and managable?

That is good for a first big bike. I'm paying £106 Fully Comp on mine but I've got a few years and miles under my belt. :scooter

For my first year of riding insuring my 600 cost me just under a grand. Fully comp though.

I never even asked about comp insurance but it was a risk as I spent over 3k on a bike that would have been wasted if I binned it.  :sma

28 years of age, no ncb and held a licence for 1 day.  Older guys I worked with said the same but considering what some wanted, that was good.  To be honest I weren't sure if I would get insurance for a 1200 being in my 20's at the time with a 1 day old licence.

It would have cost me three times that to insure a 1200cc corsa on a new driving licence, now that doesn't make sense.  :scratch
