A lot of us short ladies have Daytona Ladystar boots. They've got an insert which makes you an inch taller but you can't tell from the look of the boot.

They're really expensive, but are supremely well made and totally waterproof.

I hear DHD has the same ones................. :leaving

Guy in work is about 5ft, he had an R6 but had it lowered... could that be an option maybe better in the long run ?

I tried this with my R6, (in my opinion bad idea) handled like shit afterwards, in fact Pope couldn't get to go around a corner... Sold it and bought a GSXR which is small and light...
Adding a platform to your biker boots is a great idea, in fact its something I may consider myself. Its easy enough  to say you only need the balls of your feet on the floor, but get to a slightly cambered road and your buggered  :thumb_down

I'm 5'1" and ride a gladius!  Had it lowered and had to do test on 125 as big bikes too big!  Still can't put both feet flat but overtime confidence has improved and I don't worry as much as I did!  Ride in standard sidi vertigo boots.. no issues!  It's just confidence and practice that will help over time!  Notice lots of guys can't reach the floor with both feet flat too!

The above is a pretty important point which is why I'm replying.

The R6 and GSX-R 750 K7 have pretty much identical ride heights

The difference between having 2 feet flat on the floor of one and not the other is the width of the seat.

The GSX-R has a narrow seat which means Chamz can get feet flat on the floor where as the R6 had a wide seat making it impossible.

Lowering the R6 really fucked it up good and proper  :thumb_down
It was so bad i'd class it as unsafe.
Try a bike with a NARROWER seat first and go from there.  It makes a huge difference

after watching a 12 year old race around pembrey this weekend on a bike he could barely reach the floor on with 1 foot i wont moan about ride heights ever again

I'm just over  5' with 27" short legs and really struggle when going out as my chums will testify to! My confidence has taken a beating when it comes to turning in the road, going over gravelly- and all sorts  :help. I've recently bought a yamaha xj6 and had it lowered properly and while i still have to be careful, the ladystar daytona boots certainly do help so i'd recommend them definitely!! (Gear changing needs more thought tho as the position is slightly different)
If you are as short as you say i'd be careful looking at the gladius, as while it has a narrow seat  :thumbsup, there are plastic 'wings' either side of it which push your legs out more so you get less purchase on the floor  :thumb_down. As my choice was limited, I avoided that bike. I'm happy with my xj6 tho!! :tup2
I hope this gives you food for thought! :scooter

:thumb_up 5' 2'' ....... Gladius suits me fine, cant get BOTH my feet flat on the floor but don't think I would on any bike so ...

Its what YOU feel comforable with really .. not what some one else thinks you need  :thumbsup

Try Altberg boots. Made in Yorkshire. Off the peg or made to measure. Waterproof comfortable & built to last. Cost around £160 but worth it.
